Fisher Price makes gear like adults use, but make it as kid-proof as possible. One example is the Fisher Price DVD Player. It's a real DVD player, but it's made to survive being dropped and handled by kids. This DVD player is perfect for car trips, with its easy to use controls, kick-stand base, and easy opening door. It has a 3.2 inch LCD screen, as well as stereo sound and anti-skip technology. For easy portability, it has a handle with rubber hand grips. It plays CDs as well, and can connect easily to a television for watching on a big screen. (The video out cable is not included, however.)

The Fisher Price Kid-Tough DVD and CD Player comes with a rechargeable 4.8 Volt NiMH battery pack with a 2 hour play time. There is also a child-rated AC charger that works as a power adapter for operating on AC current. Parents love the fact that their children can entertain themselves easily in situations such as long car rides, and children love that they have their very own DVD and CD player that they can operate themselves. Some parents have reported that this DVD player is a good option for older, special needs children because of its durability and simplicity of operation.
